Realistic View
of Risk Associated with
Fire Rated Composite Insulated Panels.
 |
In the past owners installers and insurance companies
gave little or any thought to the fire safety elements
of this product. The number of fires in food manufacturing
and cold storage facilities has meant that risk
management is now at the fore front of every owner's
and their designers' mind, when specifying suitable
insulated panels for use within the food industry.
With this in mind Cross Refrigeration set about
providing our current customer and prospective
customer base with a selection of suitable products
to withstand the rigors of the production environment
whilst conforming to the exacting hygiene and
fire safety standards within the industry.

Sadly
we have witnessed a considerable amount of misinformation and
misunderstanding within this sector, and a rush to judgement
associated with the risks with regards the many types of insulated
panels.
The most incorrect assumption is that all insulated
panels perform as badly in a fire situation as those panels
with a polystyrene or polyurethane core.
The reality now though, is very different.
Cross Refrigeration offer a variety of composite insulated
panels with a wide variety of fire rating and structural
performance criteria to approved certification bodies
such as LPCB. Factory Mutual. BS. etc.
Where construction with composite panels is concerned, the
main products can be divided into the following grouping.
Polystyrene core
Polyurethane core (PU)
Polyisocyanurate (PIR)
Mineral fibre core (Rock wool)
Phenolic foam core (Pyro-foam)
